On February 6, 1960 in Florence, South Carolina the sun rose in the lives of the late Mary Louise McDaniel and the late Lester Jackson, with a blessing known as Linda Marie McDaniel.

Linda was a joy until the sun set on her life on Saturday, June 1, 2013.

Linda was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System, afterwards attending Community College where she received her Associate Degree; Linda furthered her education attending Strayer University where she received her Bachelor Degree in 2011. She also spent thirteen years working at the Federal Reserve.

Linda was full of life and well known for her outgoing spirit and generous heart. She was a very caring person and her smile was big and bright with beautiful dimples to match. Additionally, she had a love for shopping at Thrift stores and would drive between Philadelphia and Virginia to do so.

In all that Linda accomplished naturally, she was a born again believer in Jesus Christ, sharing her salvation experience with those she came in contact with. Linda loved the Lord and in her battle with her illness her faith in God never wavered. She enjoyed testifying of his goodness and encouraged those around her that “Jesus never fails and all things are possible to them that believe”.

Finally, Linda was an example of 2 Timothy 4:7-8. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

Linda leaves to cherish her life: her daughter Latangla, her son Ronald and six grandchildren; four sisters Rosa, Cecelia, Theresa (Willie) of Philadelphia and Tina-Marie of Long Island, New York; three brothers Marion McDaniel (Deceased), Terry (Latasha) and Shaundele of Long Island, New York; two aunts Verdie McDaniel (Deceased) and Edith McDonald of Philadelphia; special sister Kathy Keel; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.

She also leaves to cherish her life Alex Murray of Philadelphia, her fiancé and love of her life whose love and affection endured to the end.

Linda will be sorely missed, but God’s Word teaches us…. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. 1st Corinthians 5:3

Sorrowfully Submitted,
The Family
